Alexandria police nab Car thief

Alexandria, VA – The Alexandria Police Department apprehended a suspect involved in a stolen auto incident this week.

On Wednesday, May 17, the victim briefly left his car running while entering a business located in the 800 block of Saint Asaph Street. Upon returning, the victim discovered that his vehicle had been stolen.

Utilizing the owner’s GPS tracking software, law enforcement officers were able to track the stolen sedan in real-time. The vehicle’s location was traced to the 300 block of Braddock Road.

Upon reaching the scene, officers found the suspect seated inside the car.

The Alexandria Police Department was able to recover the stolen vehicle and placed 27-year-old Dorian Claytor, a resident of the City of Alexandria, under arrest.

Claytor has been charged with grand larceny auto. Following his arrest, he was transported to the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center, where he is presently being held without bond, awaiting a hearing.
