D.C. Shooting Claims Life of 47-Year-Old

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 47-year-old man was shot and killed yesterday evening in Northeast D.C. The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating the shooting, which happened at the 300 block of Franklin Street.

Shortly before 7 pm, police arrived at the scene to investigate a shooting report. Officers found the gunshot victim. He was not conscious or breathing. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

 47-year-old Leonard Carter of D.C. was identified as the victim. Police have not yet announced an arrest at this time.
