ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY – District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced on Tuesday that Emily Dominguez, the former Deputy Mayor and Village Trustee of Haverstraw, was sentenced today for stealing over $11,000 from the Rockland Community Foundation. Dominguez was a board member and former president of the RCF, an organization that oversees numerous charitable funds in Rockland County, including the Haverstraw Neighborhood Fund, which she co-founded.

From March to October 2020, Dominguez submitted 18 false receipts for reimbursement, purportedly for food supplied to Haverstraw residents. However, investigations found these receipts to be fraudulent. On September 20, 2022, Dominguez pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, admitting to her role in this scheme.

Judge Prisco sentenced Dominguez to 5 years probation and ordered her to pay $8,966.25 in restitution to the Rockland Community Foundation.
