NYPD seeking teens wanted for 85th Street assault and robbery

NEW YORK, NY – Detectives with the NYPD’s 20th Precinct are investigating an assault and robbery that occurred in Manhattan in April.

On April 24, at approximately 12:54 p.m., an assault was reported to the police involving an unknown male suspect at a commercial establishment on 523 Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side.

The individual entered the business and engaged in a conversation with a 24-year-old male employee at the store counter. Witnesses observed the suspect reaching over the counter and removing merchandise while another unidentified male acted as a lookout near the entrance.

The suspect repeatedly reached over the counter, took more items, and then proceeded to physically assault the victim by punching him in the head.

Afterward, the suspect fled the scene, making off with approximately $175 worth of store merchandise. Both individuals were observed fleeing on foot in a westbound direction along West 85th Street. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident.

Authorities have provided a description of the suspects as males, approximately 5’9″ to 6’0″ in height, believed to be around 18 years old. Police are actively investigating the case, reviewing any available surveillance footage and seeking any leads that may help identify and apprehend the individuals involved.
