OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – On Monday, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced charges against 48-year-old Kyle Banner, a teacher at Toms River Intermediate North and Ocean County College. Banner faces charges of Official Misconduct and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The charges stem from an incident on Sunday, April 23, when administrators at Toms River Intermediate North discovered [censored]ographic images posted by Banner on his public Twitter profile. Banner was subsequently suspended from his teaching position without pay on Monday, April 24, 2023.

The comprehensive investigation conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit revealed that students accessed Banner’s public Twitter profile and viewed the inappropriate images. Detectives found the photographs were taken in his classroom at Toms River Intermediate North. The investigation also unveiled that Banner had sent inappropriate photographs of himself to a student via Snapchat in October 2022.

On Tuesday, Banner surrendered himself to the Toms River Township Police Department. He was processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he currently awaits a detention hearing.
