Gloucester County Man Pleads Guilty to Healthcare Fraud Charges

CAMDEN, N.J. – Christopher Gualtieri, a 50-year-old resident of Franklinville, Gloucester County, has pleaded guilty to charges related to healthcare fraud.

The charges, filed by the U.S. Attorney for the United States Vikas Khanna, accused Gualtieri of defrauding his employer’s health insurance plan of more than $4 million.

According to court documents and statements, Gualtieri admitted to conspiracy to commit health care and mail fraud and obtaining oxycodone through fraud. The fraudulent scheme involved the submission of unnecessary compounded medications to his health insurance plan, which led to a payout of over $4 million.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 18, 2023.
