HANOVER, MD – On Monday, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded to an attempted armed robbery at Artisans Fine Jewelry inside the Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover. Julia Libby, 32, from Crofton, Maryland, was arrested in connection with the attempted robbery.

Libby had reportedly entered the store, asked to see two watches, and attempted to snatch them and run away. However, employees managed to keep hold of the watches. Libby then revealed a handgun in her waistband and threatened the employees, who still refused to let go of the watches.

The suspect fled the store empty-handed. Within hours of the incident, the Fugitive Apprehension Team found and arrested Libby in a neighboring jurisdiction without incident. She was still in possession of a handgun at the time of arrest.
