SILVER SPRING, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police -3rd District Investigative Section are investigating an armed robbery that transpired on Sunday in the 900 block of Silver Spring Avenue. Detectives have released surveillance video footage of the suspects and are soliciting the public’s help in identifying them.
According to the investigation, at approximately 5 a.m., the victims were walking along Mayor Lane when three unidentified suspects approached them. One of the suspects, armed with a handgun, struck one of the victims in the head before they all demanded property from the victims. The suspects then fled towards the 900 block of Thayer Avenue with the stolen goods.
The suspects are described as three black males, roughly 20 to 30 years old, in dark clothing.
One had shoulder-length hair styled in braids or twists, while the other two suspects had short hair.
