42-year-old man shot and killed in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – Gunfire rang out in the Bronx early Saturday morning leaving one man dead.

Police investigating the shooting said an unidentified individual approached a 42-year-old male victim in front of 1538 University Avenue, discharging a firearm and inflicting multiple gunshot wounds to the victim’s torso.

Despite immediate medical attention at NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The gunman was described as a male with a medium complexion standing approximately 5’6″ to 5’7″ tall and weighing around 185 to 190 pounds, was last seen fleeing southbound on University Avenue. The individual was wearing a multicolored hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white clogs.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward. The NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline is accessible at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
