Mifflintown, PA – In a shocking incident in Saturday, two Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were shot in Juniata County, resulting in the death of one trooper and serious injuries to the other.

The incident occurred in Mifflintown Borough around 12:45 p.m., when a man confronted the troopers, opening fire and striking one of them. The injured trooper was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Their condition remains serious.

Following the initial shooting, an intensive search operation was launched to apprehend the assailant. At approximately 3:00 p.m., the shooter was located in the vicinity of Swamp Road and Baumgardner Drive in Walker Township, Juniata County. A confrontation ensued between the troopers and the suspect, resulting in a deadly exchange of gunfire. Tragically, both the shooter and a trooper lost their lives during the incident.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Pennsylvania State Police Colonel Christopher Paris arrived at the hospital where the injured trooper is receiving treatment.
