LOCK HAVEN, PA – On Tuesday, Clinton County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael F. Salisbury sentenced James Standridge to the statutory maximum of 14 years for two counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Standridge won’t be eligible for parole until he has served 30 months in state prison.

Standridge, from Jersey Shore, had been found guilty of taking his dog to a secluded area, tying her to a tree, shooting her twice and abandoning her.

The dog, later named “Lucky” by SPCA workers, survived alone for six days in freezing temperatures before being discovered. Lucky underwent several surgeries and eventually had her leg amputated. She suffered severe frostbite, resulting in the loss of several toes.

Judge Salisbury ordered Standridge to pay full restitution for Lucky’s medical expenses.
