Two Arrested in Connection with Early Friday Shooting in Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton Police have arrested Tyrique Ellison, 21, of Johnson City, and Romanah Whitmore, 18, of Binghamton following an early Friday morning shooting. The two face charges of tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony.

The police were called to 33 Mygatt St. around 12:38 a.m., where an 18-year-old male was found with gunshot wounds to his hand and leg. He is currently in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police also stated that the victim was previously shot in the abdomen on Exchange Street on June 17.

Recent events indicate a rise in shootings and shots fired reports in Binghamton, with multiple incidents occurring on streets like Chestnut, Chapin, Haendel, Kneeland Avenue, and Jefferson Street. Anyone with information regarding these cases should contact Binghamton Police.
