Shots Fired at Unsanctioned Car Meet in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DE – Early on Wednesday morning, the Delaware State Police responded to reports of a shooting at a warehouse complex on the 2400 block of Bear Corbitt Road. Troopers arrived at the scene around 1:19 a.m., finding evidence of an unauthorized car meet, shell casings and remains of fireworks.

Two vehicles were found to be damaged by gunfire. The first vehicle was unoccupied at the time, while the second vehicle had three occupants: two 21-year-olds and one 19-year-old. No injuries were reported.

Investigation is ongoing by the Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit. No suspect description has been given, and investigators are awaiting the release of surveillance footage. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Detective R. Strecker at 302-365-8413.
