Suspect Charged in Death of Homeless Man in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY – The ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred in February has led to the arrest of Angeles Araujo, a 28-year-old male residing at 491 Milford Street. On Wednesday, Araujo was arrested and charged within the jurisdiction of the local Police Department in Brooklyn.

The victim, a 33-year-old male named Jose Guadalupe, was found unconscious and unresponsive in the back of a vehicle at 127 Street and 35 Avenue on Tuesday, February 21. The Police responded to a 911 call of an aided individual at the location, where they observed signs of trauma on Guadalupe. Despite efforts from EMS, Guadalupe was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is yet to be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME).

Araujo now faces charges of murder and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon. The investigation remains active.
