Arrest Made in Lakewood Bank Robberies

LAKEWOOD, NJ – The Lakewood Police Department announced the arrest of 67-year-old Ivan Sevastianow in connection with the robbery of a local TD Bank on June 30th and an unsuccessful attempted robbery of a local Wells Fargo on the same day.

Sevastianow, a resident of Howell, first attempted to rob the Wells Fargo located at 425 W Kennedy Blvd by handing a note to a bank teller demanding money. After the teller denied his request, he moved to the TD Bank located at 1601 Madison Avenue.

Using the same method, Sevastianow obtained approximately $1,500 in cash before leaving the bank. His last known direction of travel was westbound on W Kennedy Blvd.

Officer Alex Guzman Jr.’s investigation led to Sevastianow’s arrest on July 7th by the Old Bridge Township Police Department, who had apprehended him in connection with another bank robbery in their jurisdiction.

Sevastianow was charged with two counts of robbery and is currently lodged in the Middlesex County Jail.
