Fugitive Wanted for Assault Arrested by Police

CAMBRIDGE, MD – Cambridge Police Department arrested Lamar Marcus Smith, 27, on an active Dorchester County District Court Arrest Warrant last Friday.

The warrant was linked to charges including first and second-degree assault, along with malicious destruction of property, originating from an incident on June 30th.

Officers reported that on June 30th, they were called to a disturbance in Hughes Court, where a victim alleged Smith had attempted to strangle them and caused significant damage to their property.

The home was found in a state of disarray with several items broken. Smith was not on the scene when officers arrived but was later located and arrested.

He is currently being held in the Dorchester County Department of Corrections without bond.
