TRENTON, NJ – A man from Monmouth County, New Jersey, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for creating videos depicting the sexual assault of a minor.

Christian Importuna, 27, of Englishtown, previously pleaded guilty to one count of producing child [censored]ography. The sentence was delivered on Friday by U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan in the Trenton federal court.

In March 2020, Importuna made at least two videos showing him sexually assaulting a pre-pubescent victim. The videos were discovered by law enforcement on March 24, 2020, after Importuna attempted to trade images of child [censored]ography with an undercover officer online.

Importuna was linked to the production of these videos through business records indicating that they were sent from his Englishtown residence and physical identifiers visible in the videos.

In addition to the prison term, Judge Sheridan sentenced Importuna to a lifetime of supervised release and ordered him to pay $28,000 in restitution.
