Two Arrested for Violating Pre-Trial Release in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland City Police Department arrested two men last Friday on active Bench Warrants.

Javis Chayton Bohrer, a 22-year-old Cumberland resident, was arrested for violating pre-trial release conditions.

The conditions stemmed from a charge of accessory after the fact – 1st-degree murder. Bohrer is currently held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

In another case, Samuel Stuart Resnick, 41, also of Cumberland, was taken into custody. The arrest was a result of an active Bench Warrant issued after Resnick failed to appear in District Court for a previous trespassing charge.

After his initial appearance before the District Court Commissioner, Resnick was released on his own recognizance.
