Man Charged After Stabbing Woman Multiple Times with Kitchen Knife

EPHRATA, PA – A stabbing incident took place on Sunday, at a residence in the 500 block of North State Street, Ephrata Township.

Multiple officers from the Ephrata Police Department arrived on the scene within minutes after being dispatched at around 12:10 pm.

The preliminary investigation revealed that David Hernandez, a 36-year-old man from Syracuse, NY, was at the residence to collect personal belongings from his former girlfriend.

During an altercation, Hernandez reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the woman multiple times in the legs.

The victim was transported to Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health for treatment. Ephrata Police officers apprehended Hernandez and have since charged him with Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threats. Currently, Hernandez is being held at Lancaster County Prison after failing to post bail. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
