Man Charged in Domestic Assault Against Wife

UTICA, NY – On Sunday, officers from the Utica Police Department arrested James Middlebrooks, a 26-year-old resident of Utica, on several criminal charges.

The charges include criminal contempt in the first degree, a felony, obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor, and harassment.

Middlebrooks is alleged to have assaulted his wife physically.

According to the police report, he is accused of slapping her in the face and choking her by applying pressure with his hands.

Notably, an order of protection was in effect at the time of the incident.
