BRONX, NY – An NYPD officer and his father were found deceased in an apartment on Fteley Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood.
Police responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, finding both men unresponsive with gunshot wounds to their heads.
The victims were an off-duty narcotics detective, serving in the borough since 2018, and his father, a former cab driver.
The NYPD is investigating the incident as a possible murder-suicide, although it remains unclear who was the perpetrator.
The officer’s absence at a softball game led to a welfare check that discovered the scene. The police recovered a firearm and multiple shell casings from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
