Robbery at Gas Station in Wilmington Under Investigation

WILMINGTON, DE – The Delaware State Police are probing a robbery that recently occurred at a gas station.

 At about 9:24 p.m. on Tuesday, troopers arrived at Star Gas & Diesel at 3927 Kirkwood Highway in response to a robbery report.

A 55-year-old employee reported that an unidentified white male suspect had threatened him with a knife, demanding that he open the cash registers. The suspect successfully fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash after the employee complied. Despite attempts to locate the suspect in the surrounding area, troopers were unsuccessful.

No harm came to the 55-year-old employee during the incident. The suspect, still at large, is described as a white male. There are no surveillance images or video footage available as of yet.

Detective J. Dempsey of the Troop 2 Robbery Unit is leading the investigation into the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact him at 302-365-8472.
