Teen Charged for Murder in Utica

UTICA, NY – The Utica Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit has made an arrest regarding the shooting of a 15-year-old boy on Wednesday.

The young victim suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

On Friday, after an in-depth investigation, officials charged Drahcir Ford, 18, as the shooter.

With the assistance of the US Marshall Regional Fugitive Taskforce, Ford was located on Dudley Ave and taken into custody without further incidents.

Upon arrival at the Utica Police Department, Ford received multiple charges, including Attempted Murder in the second degree and weapons-related offenses. The young victim’s recovery is anticipated.
