BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – An 88-year-old woman was killed on Monday afternoon in a fatal hit-and-run that happened in Northwest Baltimore.

Officers from the Northwest District patrol arrived at the 3700 block of Liberty Heights Avenue shortly before 5:30 pm after reports of a hit and run. They discovered an 88-year-old woman inside her damaged vehicle. She was transported by medics to a local hospital, where she subsequently succumbed to her injuries.

Initial findings suggest that the 88-year-old victim was driving through the Liberty Heights and Callaway Avenue intersection on a green light when a white pick-up truck ran a red light and crashed into her vehicle.

After the collision, the pickup truck’s driver sped away, heading North on Callaway Avenue from Liberty Heights. Witnesses at the scene led investigators to speculate that the suspect might have been driving a white Ford F150 flatbed truck, which is expected to have sustained front-end damage due to the impact.

If you have any information about this incident, please contact investigators at 410-396-2606 or 911.
