BRONX, NY – Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced the sentencing of Alberto Hernandez, 64, of 2834 Heath Avenue.
Hernandez was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 10 years post-release supervision for sexually assaulting a girl over a period of six years, starting when she was only five years old.
Hernandez exploited his access through his wife’s home daycare business, “Maria’s Daycare,” to commit the assaults.
The victim, who initially enrolled at the daycare at nine months old, reported the abuse years after leaving the establishment. Her behavior began to change noticeably when she was five.
Justice Steven Hornstein oversaw the sentencing. Hernandez will be required to register as a sex offender following his prison term.
