North Carolina Man Arrested in 2017 Bronx Murder Case

Bronx, NY – The New York City Police Department announced the arrest of Rodney Spratley, a 41-year-old male from Winston Salem, NC, in connection with a 2017 homicide in the Bronx. Spratley was arrested and charged on Wednesday, August 23, at 11:00 a.m., within the jurisdiction of the 43rd Precinct.

Spratley faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon. The arrest comes after a long-running investigation into the killing of Noel Farrow, a 45-year-old Bronx resident. Farrow was shot in the head inside his home at 2235 Gleason Avenue on May 31, 2017. The assailant also set fire to Farrow’s home.

Initial reports described the suspect as a bearded male last seen wearing a baseball cap, a waist-length jacket, and blue jeans. The NYPD had previously sought the public’s assistance in identifying the individual connected to the homicide.
