70-Year-Old Man Attacked Inside Upper Manhattan Subway Station

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an assault.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, at around 7:15 pm. A 70-year-old man was assaulted while exiting the southbound “C” train at the corner of Saint Nicholas Avenue and 145th Street.

The suspect approached the victim and punched him in the face, causing severe lacerations to his face and lip. The suspect then fled the train station on foot. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to St. Luke’s Hospital / Mount Sinai Morningside, where he is in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 5’8″ in height, and around 170 pounds with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a gray Gap hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants, and has an afro hairstyle.

The New York City Police Department is actively investigating this case and encourages anyone with information to contact them.
