Williamsport Slasher Arrested with Bag Full of Weed and Cash

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – City Police units responded to a reported stabbing incident in the 1900 block of Newberry St. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with severe lacerations to his head and hand. The suspect, identified as Dennis Prieto Jr., 25, was seen fleeing the scene but was later apprehended.

A utility knife believed to be the weapon was recovered, and a backpack in Prieto’s possession was found containing a significant amount of marijuana and cash.

The victim received medical treatment at UPMC Susquehanna.

Prieto was arraigned before District Justice Christian Frey and is currently held at the Lycoming County Prison with bail set at $100,000.
