Dover Man Arrested for Road Rage Stabbing Attack

DOVER, DE – John Scott, a 59-year-old resident of Dover, has been arrested by the Delaware State Police for assault following a road rage incident that occurred on Wednesday morning. That day, at around 10:19 a.m., troopers were called to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, where they found a 29-year-old man with a stab wound.

The investigation revealed that the victim was driving a white Lexus SUV and Scott was operating a blue Mustang.

Both vehicles were traveling southbound on Route 1 when Scott gestured for the victim to pull over. An argument ensued on the shoulder of the road, during which Scott stabbed the victim in the torso. The victim drove himself to the hospital while Scott fled the scene.

With help from the Dover Police Department, a tag for Scott’s vehicle was obtained. The Mustang was later located at its registered address, and Scott was taken into custody without incident. Blood was observed on the driver-side window of the Mustang, and Scott had injuries to his hands.

A search warrant was executed on the Mustang, leading to the recovery of a bloody knife. Scott was subsequently charged with Assault First Degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony. He is currently held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $120,000 cash bond.
