Man Charged After Pulling Handgun, Pointing at Woman During Domestic Dispute

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – An armed man was arrested after damaging property and brandishing a handgun during a domestic dispute on U.S. Route 30.

On September 11, patrol officers responded to a report of a man who had damaged items inside a woman’s residence during an argument. After leaving the location, the woman followed the suspect onto Route 30, where he drew a handgun from a bag and brandished it at her.

Officer Bayron Zelaya-Chavez located the suspect, Dante Cody, 26, of Pleasantville, walking along the roadway. Cody complied with the officer’s commands and was arrested. A search revealed a loaded handgun and 36 grams of packaged marijuana in his possession.

Cody faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a large capacity magazine, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) with intent to distribute, and possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense.

He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
