Woman Arrested for Assaulting Ambulance Crew

CUMBERLAND, MD – Megan Lynn Pettit was arrested after assaulting an ambulance crew that had responded to her medical emergency during a disturbance on Arch Street.

Cumberland City Police responded to the 300 block of Arch Street on September 6 following a complaint of a female yelling and throwing an alcohol bottle. Officers found the suspect, Megan Pettit, who then experienced a medical emergency. Cumberland Fire Department was called to the scene and began providing aid. Later, the police were summoned back to assist the fire department when it was discovered that Pettit had assaulted members of the ambulance crew and fled.

Pettit, 32, was served with a Criminal Summons on September 12 and faces charges of Assault 2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct, and Disturbing the Peace. She is currently free pending trial in District Court.
