Young Woman Sexually Assaulted on Broadway in Broad Daylight

NEW YORK, NY – A 26-year-old woman was assaulted by an unidentified man on Broadway near East 18 Street on Tuesday at around 2:05 PM.

The victim was walking in front of 890 Broadway when the suspect approached and slapped her buttocks. The assailant subsequently fled on foot in the direction of East 18 Street. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene by Emergency Medical Services.

The suspect is described as a male in his early 30s, standing 5’6″ tall, with a medium build, dark complexion, black hair, and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black Mets baseball hat, black framed eyeglasses, a black backpack, a blue t-shirt, black jogging pants, and black sneakers.

Images of the individual, captured by the victim on her cellphone, have been released in hopes of aiding identification. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward
