Facebook Marketplace Meeting Ends with Armed Robbery

NEW YORK CITY, NY – Police are seeking public help to identify two suspects involved in an armed robbery that took place near Valentine Avenue and East Burnside Avenue on August 29.

The 40-year-old male victim had arranged to meet the suspects through Facebook Marketplace to buy a cell phone. During the transaction, a disagreement broke out, leading the suspects to brandish a firearm and forcibly take $700 from the victim.

They fled the scene in a white Mercedes Benz sedan on East Burnside Avenue. The vehicle has since been recovered, and the victim was not injured.

The first suspect is a male approximately 5’8” tall, medium build, with a medium complexion. He has tattoos on his neck and right arm.

The second suspect is a male approximately 5’9” tall, medium build, with a dark complexion. He has a beard.
