Teens Captured After High Speed Chase in Stolen Kia

WILMINGTON, DE – Delaware State Police arrested a 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male after a pursuit in a stolen Kia on Wednesday night.

The vehicle had been reported stolen within the jurisdiction of the New Castle County Police Department the previous day.

The suspects were taken into custody after the Kia was forced to a stop. The 15-year-old driver was found to be an escapee from the New Castle County Detention Center, and the 16-year-old was reported as a runaway juvenile.

Both were charged with multiple crimes, including attempted reckless endangering and receiving stolen property over $1,500.

The 15-year-old was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on a $15,500 cash bond. The 16-year-old was also taken into custody without further incident.
