One Dead, One Critically Injured in D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A shooting unfolded late last night in Southeast DC, resulting in the tragic death of one individual and severe injuries to another.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m., officers from The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department on routine patrol in the 2600 block of Bowen Road in Southeast D.C., heard gunshots. At the scene, the officers discovered the lifeless body of 27-year-old William Jones, a resident of Laurel, Maryland, inside a vehicle. Mr. Jones had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

Police located a second man in the vicinity, suffering from gunshot injuries. This second victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
