CSX Train Collides with Cement Truck, Disrupting Traffic and Rail Services in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, PA – A CSX train struck a cement truck at the Big Oak train crossing at Township Line Road around 5:30 a.m. this morning. No injuries have been reported. Big Oak Road and Township Line Road are currently closed, disrupting local traffic and rail services.

The incident is not a hazardous material situation. A small quantity of diesel fuel and a larger amount of gypsum were found along the tracks, but these pose no public hazard. CSX, Septa, and Middletown public works crews are on scene for evaluation and cleanup. The process is expected to continue into the afternoon or early evening.

Local authorities advise avoiding the area and indicate that traffic will be directed around the crash scene. Updates will be provided once the situation is resolved and the crossing reopens.
