NEW YORK CITY, NY – Detectives are actively investigating a series of robberies that have taken place within the city. These incidents are believed to be connected, forming a pattern of borough robberies.
On Thursday, September 7, at around 1:00 pm, a 46-year-old woman was near East 149 Street and Saint Anns Avenue when two unidentified men on a scooter approached her. They snatched her cell phone and fled the scene. Fortunately, the woman was not injured.
In another incident on Saturday, September 9, at approximately 7:20 pm, a 29-year-old man was on the northbound 6 train platform at the East 149 Street subway station. Two unknown men approached him, and while acting together, threatened him with a knife. They took his cell phone and $50 before escaping. The man was unharmed.
The first suspect is described as a male, around 5’9″ tall, with a dark complexion and slim build. He was last seen in a red hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and red and black sneakers. The second suspect matches the first in height and complexion but was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
