Multiple Shootings Reported in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC – A 24-year-old man was fatally shot on Monday night in Wilmington’s Southbridge neighborhood.

 Wilmington officers responded to the 400 block of S. Claymont St. at about 8:20 p.m. The injured man was transported to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

In a separate incident early Tuesday, another shooting occurred in the city’s Price Run community. A 28-year-old man was shot around 5:15 a.m. on the 2300 block of Carter St. The victim’s condition is reported as stable.

The investigation into Monday’s shooting is ongoing. Wilmington Police request anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Detective Brandon Mosley at (302) 576-3646.

 Current data indicates that 85 individuals have been shot in Wilmington this year, with 10 fatalities.
