TOMS RIVER, NJ – New Jersey residents can expect a week of fluctuating weather, starting off mild and sunny before likely transitioning to a wetter end of the week.
The day kicks off with increasing cloud cover and a high temperature nearing 63 degrees. Winds from the northwest will be gentle but noticeable at around 10 mph. As evening falls, the clouds will stick around before eventually giving way to a mostly clear night. Temperatures will dip to a low of around 41 degrees, with winds easing to around 5 mph from the northwest.
Tuesday looks promising for those who enjoy the sunshine, as the day is predicted to be mostly sunny with a high temperature close to 64 degrees. Winds will continue to be mild, blowing from the north at approximately 5 mph. The night will bring partly cloudy skies but remain calm with a low temperature settling around 46 degrees.
Midweek continues the trend of mild weather. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with temperatures inching up to a high near 66 degrees. While the morning will have a northwest wind around 5 mph, it is expected to change direction and come from the southwest in the afternoon. The night is forecasted to be mostly clear, cooling down to a low of around 47 degrees.
However, don’t put away those umbrellas just yet. The weather is set to take a turn starting Thursday, which will be sunny with a high reaching near 70 degrees. The night will become mostly cloudy with lows around 55 degrees. By Friday, rain is likely to set in, mainly after 2 pm, with temperatures again reaching a high near 70 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 60%, escalating to 70% by Friday night, when the low is expected to be around 54 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.
So, while the first half of the week may offer a respite from any inclement weather, it would be wise to prepare for a rainy end to the week.
