Teenage Girl Injured in Southeast D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 17-year-old girl was injured in a Sunday shooting in Southeast D.C., according to police.

The incident took place around 6:28 p.m. at the 2700 block of Langston Place. Police received a call about the shooting and dispatched officers to the location.

The girl was found in a car, which authorities have described as stolen, although an incident report does not confirm whether the car was stolen. According to the same report, the girl and another individual were unloading the vehicle when two unidentified people approached and began shooting.

The injured teen was transported to an area hospital from a fire station located in the 3100 block of 24th Street SE. She is expected to survive. The police have not yet released the name of the victim.
