Teenager Found Dead After Gunfire Reported in Newport

NEWPORT, NJ – On Monday, Newport Police Department received a report about a shooting incident around 3:53 p.m. on Hustings Lane.

Arriving officers found a teenage male with a gunshot injury, who was declared dead at the scene.

Detectives are currently on-site, gathering information from potential witnesses, while forensics teams are working on evidence collection.

The details surrounding the shooting are yet to be clarified. Presently, no suspect information is available.
