Reckless Driver in Forks Found DUI at Nearby Gas Station

by Leo Canega

FORKS TOWNSHIP, PA – On Sunday, Forks Township police responded to a call around 5:41 pm at 301 Town Center Boulevard regarding a reckless driver.

Jose Jaime Silva was identified as the driver who reportedly collided with a pole and was seen driving haphazardly around the parking lot. His vehicle was later located improperly parked near the Giant gas station.

Upon interaction, officers noted signs of intoxication from Silva and spotted a firearm by his side. For safety reasons, sobriety tests were not conducted on-site.

In addition, two discarded Bacardi bottles and a puddle of urine, linked to Silva, were observed in the vicinity. Silva was then transported to the Northampton County DUI Center in Bethlehem Township for further evaluation.

While at the DUI Center, after undergoing a legal blood draw, Silva became aggressive towards an officer. A Forks Township officer intervened, leading to Silva briefly choking him. Silva now faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, driving under the influence, and open lewdness.
