DAVENPORT, FL – A 58-year-old Florida man, Kevin Berry, succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on Tuesday evening following a road rage incident that occurred over the weekend.

The altercation took place on the I-4 off-ramp to U.S. Highway 27 in Davenport, Florida. According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Berry was discovered “lying next to his vehicle” just after 2 a.m. on Sunday. He was then taken off life support days later.

The Sheriff’s office is in pursuit of an unidentified suspect involved in the case. A witness reported seeing Berry’s white Dodge truck and a dark-colored two-door car driving aggressively near each other before coming to a stop on the off-ramp.

“We need to know who shot him and why,” Sheriff Judd implored during a Monday press conference.

The witness claimed to have heard both drivers yelling at each other before they drove around the two vehicles to avoid the escalating situation.

Sheriff Judd said that the witness also reported seeing “at least three other vehicles on the ramp at the time of the incident,” suggesting there may be additional witnesses to the crime.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward. Berry, a resident of Altamonte Springs, was employed as a truck driver for a private contractor at the time of his death. The authorities are keen to bring the unidentified suspect to justice and are requesting that any additional witnesses contact the Sheriff’s Office.
