Two Arrested in Drug Raid in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A coordinated sting by the Atlantic City Police Department led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of a loaded handgun and various narcotics on October 19.

Acting on a tip, Detective Eric Evans assembled a team including Lieutenant Richard Andrews and Detectives James Barrett and Christopher Smith to locate Jose Lugo, who was wanted on an active warrant. The team identified Lugo on the 1200 block of the Boardwalk at 4:54 PM, where he was seen alongside Scott Snowden, who was engaged in weighing marijuana.

Both men were promptly detained. Lugo was found to possess a loaded handgun, 24 bags of heroin, and 10 grams of methamphetamine. Snowden was found with 68 grams of marijuana and drug distribution equipment.

Jose Lugo, 22, faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a weapon and various drug-related offenses. He was transferred to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Scott Snowden, 25, has been charged with drug-related offenses and was released on a summons for a future court date.
