Federal Officer Shot in Virginia, Police Make Arrest

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, VA – In the early hours of Wednesday morning, an operation involving several shots fired drew heavy police attention near River Road and Ashley Lane.

One of the shots injured a federal law enforcement officer, who was then taken to VCU Medical Center in Richmond with non-life-threatening injuries.

The situation intensified when the shooter, identified as JohnDrea Felicia Ann Roberts, 26, of North Dinwiddie, and another male barricaded themselves inside a residence shortly after the shooting incident.

Roberts now faces charges including malicious wounding and firearm offenses.

Virginia State Police took Roberts into custody at 7:05 a.m. A firearm was retrieved from the scene, with no reported injuries inside the home. The investigation is currently managed by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Richmond Field Office and is still in progress.
