Loaded Firearm Found in Edgewood High School Student’s Locker

EDGEWOOD, MD — A loaded firearm was discovered in a student’s locker at Edgewood High School during an administrative search by school staff.

The search was initially conducted in response to an odor of marijuana.

The weapon, identified as a Walther PK380 handgun, was found during the course of the search. Harford County Sheriff’s Office has taken up the investigation to determine how the student obtained the gun.

The suspect will be waived to adult status for prosecution due to the potential danger posed by the incident. Collaboration is ongoing among the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Harford County Public Schools, and the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office to ensure a thorough investigation and swift resolution of the matter.
