Trump Celebrates Defeat of New Jersey’s ‘Horrendous’ Offshore Wind Farm

BEDMINSTER, NJ – Former U.S. President Donald J. Trump celebrated the cancellation of New Jersey’s Ocean Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind energy projects. The deal, touted by President Joe Biden and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy as the key to America’s clean energy future, was terminated by Danish energy company Orsted on Halloween.

Trump had long criticized federally subsidized clean energy projects that would eventually raise the cost of energy and taxes for Americans to support.

He congratulated South Jersey Congressman Jeff Van Drew for his efforts in fighting against Governor Murphy’s radical energy agenda that will culminate with a gasoline-powered car ban in 2035.

“Congratulations to a truly great Congressman, Jeff Van Drew, for his perseverance and success in defeating the horrendous Orsted Ocean Wind One and Two projects, which were to be built off the coast of South Jersey,” Trump said. “This monstrosity required massive government subsidies, and ultimately, just didn’t work.”

Trump also noted that since sonar mapping began in 2022, there has been an uptick in dead and beached whales and dolphins in the region. While the Biden administration and Governor Phil Murphy discredited that connection, Trump also praised the safety of marine mammals in the future.

“The whales, which are dying in record numbers because of these wind scams, are very happy tonight,” he added. “Way to go Jeff. The people of New Jersey love you.”
