Woman Struck and Killed in Hit and Run in Farmington

FARMINGTON, DE — The Delaware State Police are actively investigating a hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on South Dupont Highway in Farmington.

The incident occurred at around 6:47 p.m. on November 2, when a vehicle, details currently unknown, struck a 33-year-old woman from Milton who was in the northbound lane of South Dupont Highway, just south of Main Street. Following the collision, the vehicle involved did not stop and the driver left the scene.

The victim was declared deceased at the site of the accident. Identification is withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities closed the northbound lanes of the highway for an estimated four hours to allow for a thorough investigation and road clearance. The Delaware State Police are calling for any witnesses or individuals with information regarding the incident to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
