Two Arrested for ‘High Value’ Theft in Utica

UTICA, NY – A theft at Lowe’s in North Utica has led to charges against one suspect, with police continuing to search for the second.

The Utica Police Department reported the apprehension of Zenas Reed, 25, of Utica, following the incident on October 20th.

Store employees alerted police about two males who bypassed the checkout with high-value items. Surveillance footage aided by the Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center led to Reed’s identification.

He faces charges of fourth-degree grand larceny and an outstanding petit larceny warrant.

Reed was apprehended on October 27th, while the second suspect remains at large. Police are determined to charge the accomplice upon identification and capture.
