Lakewood Police Dept. Hosts Annual Car Show

The Lakewood Township Police Benevolent Association's second annual "Cars for a Cause" auto show, despite early rain, attracted enthusiasts with over 80 vehicles on October 29, filling the Jersey Shore BlueClaws Stadium parking lot.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — The Lakewood Township Police Benevolent Association’s second annual “Cars for a Cause” auto show, despite early rain, attracted enthusiasts with over 80 vehicles on October 29, filling the Jersey Shore BlueClaws Stadium parking lot.

The event, designed to raise funds for Ocean of Love and Bikur Cholim of Lakewood, showcased a collection of vehicles for public viewing. Among the vehicles, a 1967 Buick GS earned the “Best in Show” title, while a 1964 Chevelle SS was selected for the “Chief’s Choice” award.

The Lakewood Police Department’s Community Relations Unit played a pivotal role in the organization of the show, aiming to foster trust and respect within the diverse community fabric.

Police Chief Gregory Meyer commented on the difficulty in selecting the winners due to the high caliber of entries. He commended the professionalism and community support that marked the event’s success and anticipated subsequent events.

Participants received goodie bags filled with merchandise, supported by contributions from various donors. The total funds raised, which are yet to be announced, will support local charities aiding children with cancer.
